    Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) seeks a Transportation Planner to work on a wide variety of projects and policies in Greater Boston to encourage more of the region's trips to involve transit, bicycling, walking, and electric vehicles. The Planner will report to the Assistant Director of the Transportation Department and will work on a variety of topics, including bike share, micro-mobility, transportation demand management, parking, transportation finance, climate change, dedicated bus lanes, and other activities. The individual will be a strong representative of the agency in a number of public forums, manage projects, facilitate working groups, conduct research, author reports and technical memoranda, and maintain and advance relationships with numerous stakeholders.

    DPCD seeks the professional services from experienced planning, urban design, or architecture firms qualified to prepare design guidelines for new or significantly renovated residential development within the Town’s low density zoning districts (R0, R1, and R2) and make recommendations on how to apply design guidelines to the existing organizational structure of the town and its permitting processes, or identify if a new process should be established.

    The Town of Arlington Department of Planning & Community Development seeks proposals to develop a sustainable transportation plan. DPCD seeks professional services from experienced planning, transportation or engineering firms qualified to prepare a town-wide transportation plan with a 20-year vision that addresses and balances the needs of all transportation modes. The sustainable transportation plan should emphasize transitioning everyday travel to environmentally-sustainable modes such as walking, bicycling, public transportation, rideshare, micro-mobility, and emerging low-carbon technologies, including electric automobiles.

    Position Summary: The Economic Development Director will serve as the main point of contact for businesses, developers, property owners, and real estate professionals in the Town and will help businesses navigate through the processes required to execute their initiatives.

    Qualifications: Must have a degree in Public or Business Administration, Economic Development, Planning or a closely related field, Master’s degree preferred; 3+ years of related professional experience, considerable knowledge of local business and economic development policies and programs; familiarity with local, state, and federal grant and incentive programs, and other applicable economic development tools and opportunities.
