Among the position's responsibilities are the following:
-Manages the Current Planning Division: Assists Director and Deputy Director in day-to-day operations of the Current Planning Division, and oversees operations of all current planning and support staff (currently two land use planners, two preservation planners, and chief zoning code official).

The Community Development & Planning Department seeks an individual to provide planning analysis of transportation projects and initiatives, coordinates the Town's transportation functions, implementation of transportation management association (TMA), staff support to the Watertown Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, prepares monthly information packages for the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. This senior planner writes reports, reviews plans and legal documents and makes recommendations. Coordinates with the Department of Public Works, Mass DOT, MBTA and others.
